Somalia officially and permanently cuts diplomatic ties with Kenya, gives Kenyan diplomats 7 days ultimatum to leave the country while recalling its diplomats back to Mogadishu over what they call continued internal affair ‘interference’, political & territorial violations.
The dispute between Kenya and Somalia among other things, is rooted in a disagreement over which direction the two countries’ border extends into the Indian Ocean. Somalia argues that the maritime boundary should continue on in the same direction as the land border’s southeasterly path.
