Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has told President Uhuru to be ready to go home when his term ends in 2022. The veteran politician said it won’t be possible for President Uhuru to stay in office past 2022 since the constitution of Kenya only allows him to serve for two terms.
Kabogo who was speaking at a family function in Ruiru , poked holes in the recent coronation of National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi as Mt. Kenya region political spokesperson. Kabogo said that the coronation of Muturi, was an indirect message from President Uhuru telling the GEMA people that ,Muturi will be the one leading them come 2022 during the general election.
He insisted that they won’t accept, since everyone is going to carry his own cross. Kabogo further disclosed that he will be the one to take over from President Uhuru Kenyatta, as the region spokesperson after he retires.
Muturi`s coronation has caused division in the region. Recently, Murang`a county boss Mwangi Wa Iria organized a cleansing ceremony on the Mukurwe wa Nyagathanga shrine, were Muturi coronation took place. The elders that conducted the ceremony nullified Muturi`s coronation.
