Uhuru and Raila Allies clash over the new 70 proposed constituencies.

Division has emerged in a parliamentary team of the BBI after allies of President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga clashed over the proposed 70 new added constituencies in the BBI.

Some of the members allied to Uhuru are keen on pushing the committee to adopt the new addition constituencies as part of the constitution Amendment Bill 2020. Allies of Raila are critical on allowing the new proposed constituencies by the committee’s-Chairs of the committee Senator Okong`o and Muturi Kigano, have sought extension after the two groups have maintained their firm stand.

This comes after IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati warned the politicians to keep off from the constituency allocating. Stating that the work is for the electoral body and if the amendment will be adopted it will be unconstitutional and it will face legal hurdles.

However, the Presidents are down playing the chairman warning pushing for the adoption. Raila allies are crying off foul play, claiming that they were left behind in the allocation of constituencies.
