Raila gave me the go ahead to have a meeting with Ruto, Governor Oparanya says.

County chief of Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has come out to clear out questions concerning the meeting he had with Deputy President William Ruto in Narok. The county boss states he was only on Business trip in Mara, coincidently he bumped into the second in command William Ruto.

Oparanya said that he called his party leader the former prime minister Raila Odinga, to inform him of meeting Ruto and then Raila gave him the greenlight of having the meeting with Ruto.

He said that while meeting with Ruto they only discussed on how to improve service delivery to citizens of Kenya. The governor dismissed the rumours of him discussing a possibility of forming a political alliance with Ruto because he had no permission from Raila since he is the only one who could sanction talks concerning formation of alliances.

He further disclosed that Ruto requested for their support and he added that in politics there is no permanent enemy it is only a matter of interests. So, it won’t be a surprise, if Ruto forms a coalition with Raila Odinga.
