Police Hold Prayers To Cleanse Station After 2 Colleagues Die

Police officers at the  Kyumbi police station in Athi River held prayers to cleanse the station as they mourned their departed colleagues.

Several pastors, community leaders, and members of the public joined the officers at the station on Tuesday afternoon.

Kyumbi Pastors Association chairman Reverend Daniel Muthoka said they will continue praying for the officers to ensure no more deaths occur at the station.

While Francis Wambua Kavyu called on the Kenya National Highway Authority (KeNHA) to erect bumps next to Chumbi shopping centre which will slow down speeding vehicles. 

They expressed their grief as they mourned Corporal Purity Kungu and Corporal Loise Chepchumba who were both attached to Kyumbi police post until their demise.

According to Athi River sub-county police commander Anderson Njagi, the police station had lost two police officers to road accidents in a span of less than a week.

Both officers hail from Nakuru County.
