A Nakuru court has released three murder suspects of Eunice Muthoni Njeri on a 400, 000 KES bond.
The three could not be detained for 14 days as the prosecution did not provide compelling reasons for the detention, said Lilian Arika, Nakuru Principle Magistrate.
Eric Mutuma, Tamar Njeri and Diana Muthiomi were ordered to avail themselves to the police station whenever required. The magistrate made it clear that upon formal charging will the bond expire.
Detectives linked the three to the murder of 22-years old fourth year student at Egerton University.
Diana Muthiomi, Eric’s wife and Eaunice’s friend had suspected that the two(Eric and Eunice) were engaged in a romantic relationship.
Before her body was dumped and discovered at River Subuku, Njoro, Nakuru County, the student was strangled, an autopsy report from the University revealed.
