MP Moses Kuria sentenced to 8 months in prison or fine of Ksh 75,000.

Gatundu Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has been set free by Kiambaa Court after he was arrested on Monday night alongside other 30 citizens for violating Covid 19 preventive measures placed by Ministry of Health.

The charges the lawmaker was charged include failure to wear mask, breaking the curfew order and unlawful assembly. The court sentenced Moses Kuria to 8 months in jail or pay Sh 75k.This comes after last months’ Covid 19 Presidential Address where the president banned social gatherings and directed restaurants and bars to only provide take away services.

This was inquest to curb the surging numbers of Covid 19 that had continued to be reported in the country and taking lives especially in Nairobi, Kiambu, Machakos, Nakuru and Kajiado. This led to five counties being marked and placed under cessation of movement.

However, citizens continue flouting the rules and they are led by their leaders.
