Migori governor Okoth Obado recently announced that he will be quitting ODM for People`s Democratic Party. This has created division in the Luo council of elders.
A fraction led by Chairman Nyandiko Ongadi paid Obado a visit at his home in Uriri and seems to indirectly support Obados’ decision to quit ODM for PDP. Chairman Ongadi urged the Luo community to allow entry of more political parties in the region that has been dominated by ODM.
Other fraction led by Migori county chairman John Ben and his fellow chair of Homabay Joseph Ogada Gor opposed the decision and said it will create division in the Luo community.
They argued that full support should be consolidate behind Raila Odinga and ODM party.
