National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi has been installed as the new Mt. Kenya region spokesman. The coronation event took place at Njuri Ncheke shrine in Tigania, Meru county. The coronation ceremony was attended by hundreds of central elders and leaders allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Josphat Murangiri, the chairperson of Njuri Ncheke council said the occasion would have political change in the region, considering that there is no definitive leader to succeed President Uhuru who is set to retire come 2022.
Muturi became the fifth leader to be installed Mt. Kenya region spokesman.. Other leaders who have been the region spokesman are the founding father Jomo Kenyatta, former President Mwai Kibaki, Uhuru and Kiraitu Murungi.
