The murders of popular blogger and social media influencer Frank Obegi and his three close friends have sent shock waves through the nation. Their butchered bodies were found in Magadi, Kajiado County and Kijabe Forest in Kiambu County. The remains of Obegi, Elijah Omeka and Moses Nyachae were dumped in Kijabe Forest while those of Fred Obare were found in Magadi.
Those discovered at Kijabe Forest were taken to the City Mortuary on June 19 and booked as ‘unknown’ while the body of Obare was ferried to the same morgue on June 20. An unidentified woman is thought to have lured some of the victims to their killers. Lari Police Boss, Abraham Furaha disclosed that the bodies found at Kijabe Forest did not have private parts. Some of their body parts had been eaten by wild animals.
He added that it was evident they were tortured and then strangled to death. Sources revealed that when two of the four friends went missing, their counterparts went to report only for them to disappear too. The deceased men lived life on the fast lane and have been described as ambassadors of ‘soft life.’ Allegedly, their source of big money was not known. Social media is awash with stories how the quartet scammed unsuspecting Kenyans. We could not independently verify the allegations.
