Headless Woman’s Body Stashed In Sack, Dumped In Awendo Town

Migori County police have launched investigations into the death of an unidentified woman who was beheaded and her body stashed in a sack within Awendo town.

Suna East Sub-county Police Commander Hesau Ochorokodi said the body of the woman was found along the road by the members of the public Friday morning.

The police boss said they could not immediately identify the deceased since her attackers seemed to have taken off with her head.

The body was moved to Migori Level Hospital mortuary pending autopsy and police investigation.

Mr. Ochorokodi said they are working on modalities to step up patrols within Awendo Sub County to deal with the rising cases of insecurity and therefore appeals for support from the members of the public

The incident comes amid concern over rising cases of insecurity in Awendo sub-county. A week ago, two people were killed in Awendo town and a teacher also had his wrist chopped off by unknown attackers.

The residents of Awendo sub county want security officers to put in place modalities to fight the rising cases of insecurity.
